Earlier in the day on Monday, August 6th, Police authorities of Singapore said via a news release that it has arrested as many as Thirty-three people in several estates during a 10-day joint enforcement operation that was led by the Singapore Police Force.
A majority of the suspects are aged between 20 and 56 and have been arrested on the basis of various offences that include vice and illegal gambling.
Also on the basis of reportedly advertising sexual services online, the Singapore police force arrested nine women.
The Singapore Police Force carried out the joint operation along with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).
These operations were conducted at Ang Mo Kio, Anchorvale, Fernvale, Braddell Heights, Rivervale, Jalan Kayu, Yishun and Sembawang and Yishun.
In a statement, the police revealed that among those who were arrested are a 35-year-old man believed to be involved in managing the two residual units and a 37-year-old woman for offences under the Employment Act. The police force further added that it also seized four mobile phones and S$890 in cash.
In Braddell Heights estate, the police arrested ten men for suspicion of illegal gambling and another three men for allegedly operating a gambling den in a private residential unit.
The police further said that, In another raid, they arrested six men and a woman for suspected drug-related offences. And they seized Five packets of substances believed to be controlled drugs along with some drug paraphernalia.
The police force also said that it will continue with its Investigations.
Landlords and hotel owners were given a firm reminder by the police to inspect and make sure that tenants do not carry out vice or other illicit activities while residing on their premises.
